Just 0.2% of tenant's money goes unclaimed, says DPS
Wed 12 Aug 2015
Only a very small amount of tenant deposit money goes unclaimed according to the Deposit Protection Service (DPS). The DPS, which offers a custodial service that sees money actually banked, said that just 0.2% of deposit money has been unclaimed in two years.
In England and Wales there is no deadline by which tenancy deposits must be claimed. Therefore deposits will stay with the DPS indefinitely until claimed by landlord or tenant.
All deposits taken by CB Lettings are held in the Deposit Protection Service Scheme, ensuring that both landlord and tenant are fully protected in the event of any dispute.
